Hambley the Interim Health Officer
In the west-side county of Ott-a-Wa, Adeline Hambley the Interim Health Officer was queen of the DPH-a. A nice little swamp. It was clean. It was neat. The coffee was warm. There was plenty to eat.
The employees had everything employees might need. And they were all happy. Quite happy indeed.
They were... until Hambley, the queen of them all, Decided the budget she had was too small.
"I'm ruler", said Hambley, "of all the DPH. But I don't spend enough. That's the trouble with me.
With this office for a throne, I look down on the Commissioners. But I cannot look up to a bigger budget beyond. This budget they give me is too, too low down. It ought to be higher!" she said with a frown. "If I could spend higher, how much greater I'd be! What a queen! I'd be ruler of all the county!"
So Hambley, the Interim Health Officer, went on a tirade. And Hambley, the Interim Health Officer, posted on the county Facebook page. Using taxpayer money she showed her defiance. To feed the progressive media with whom she was in alliance. She threatened the DPH will collapse. And she piled her fear and panic into a towering stack. And then Hambley climbed up atop it. She sat down on the pile. What a wonderful view! She could see 'most a mile!
And a plain little Commissioner below in the county, that plain little Commissioner whose name was just Moss, decided he'd taken enough. And he had. And that plain little lad got a bit mad. And that plain little Moss did a plain little thing. He called her out! And his call out shook the throne of the queen!
And Hambley the Interim Health Officer, the queen of the Kinky Sex Ed Week, The queen of the Pride Festival and NGOs and the Grants, the queen of Ottawa Objects and Masaray and a Barnosky.
Well, that was the end of the DPH Queen's rule! For Hambley, the Queen of all Ott-a-Wa DPH-a,
Fell off her high throne and fell Plunk! in the swamp-a!
And today the great Hambley, that Marvelous she, Is Queen of the Mud. That is all she can see.
And the citizens, of course... all the county citizens are free of COVID-19. As county citizens and, maybe, all Americans should be.
