Proposed Budget Reduction Will Significantly Impair, and Likely Eliminate, Adeline Hambley's Ability to Maintain Her Wash, Cut, Body Wave, and Blow Dry
Olive Township, Mich. – A professional hair style empowers transemployed Interim Health Officer Adeline Hambley to face threats to public health with confidence. Yet, the Ottawa County Finance & Administration Committee has proposed a budget that will significantly impair, and likely eliminate her ability to maintain a regular wash, cut, body wave, and blow dry at a high priced hair salon.
At the Ottawa County Department of Public Health Facebook page, Hambley posted:
Hambley later signed a letter stating, “[T]hese actions will have lasting and long-term effects on Health Department colleagues to be inclined to include me in important discussions and projects if my hairstyle does not make me appear professional and committed.” She continued, “It's important to the Ottawa County Health Officer for me to be able to have a stylish hairstyle to add a layer of credibility in my dealings with my coworkers and the public when Governor Whitmer declares a COVID lockdown before the election.”
If the proposed budget is approved by the Board of Commissioners, the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation has pledged to donate funds to the newly opened Momentum Center hair salon where hair stylist Barbara Lee will work her magic to create a hairstyle for Hambley that is healthy, inclusive, and diverse.
